Test reports

Every order comes with its mill test report, so you can trace the parts back to the heat of steel they were cut from. No extra charge, no asking. For an inspection report or parts certified to a standard, choose it in the quote.

What a mill test report looks like

A sample, laid out like the one that comes with your parts. The mill, the heat and the numbers here are made up.

How it ties to your parts

The shop records the heat number of the bar or plate each part was cut from, and the report for that heat comes with the order. If a part is ever questioned, you can trace it to its batch of steel, the chemistry and the test results.

Inspection reports

A dimensional report against your drawing, or the OEM dimensions we measured from the worn part, with the tolerances held. Choose it in the quote.

Parts certified to a standard

Parts listed by grade, such as Grade 8, A325 or B7, are made to the grade's strength and come with the mill test report. A standard order is not head-marked or lot-tested. If you need parts certified to the standard, such as ASTM F3125 (A325 or A490) structural bolts with head marks, SAE J429 Grade 8 with head marks or A193 B7 studs with lot tests, choose Certified to the standard in the quote. We quote the testing and marking separately.

Certified shops

ISO 9001 shops for work that needs a quality system, and CWB certified shops for welded fabrications.
